Cholla Bay Listings

The mostly American Community of Cholla Bay is about five miles from the heart of Puerto Penasco also know as Rocky Point. It is on a peninsula bound by the Sea of Cortez and Cholla Bay. The seascapes are breath taking all the way to Baja California sixty miles away. Once a small fishing retreat, the area has become the closest beach to Arizona. It is ideal for a hideaway, second home or resort opportunity.

The recent repeal of Mexican Law, now allows foreigners to own land on the coast. A deed of trust gives all the rights of ownership.

Cholla Bay has many recreational features such as the Old Boys Social Club, the Cholla Bay Sportsmans Club and the Homeowners Community Center. It even has the world famous JJ's Cantina and Xochitl's Cholla Cafe. It has all the amenities.

Another interesting and unusual feature of the Puerto Penasco area is the extreme tides produced in the area. In Cholla Bay the difference between low and high tides can be as much as 24 feet, it is a sight to behold. Today, people visit Rocky Point for the sun, sand, sea, fishing, and just general relaxation. It is not another Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta, and most visitors are eternally grateful for that fact.
